Here’s To 2015

2015 is creeping up on us and we couldn’t be any more excited. Not because we want to get 2014 over and done with, but because we are excited for what’s in store for the new year.

“I can’t complain about God’s plan. It all happened for a reason and I know I have big things in store for me, so I’m trying to be patient.” In a world where we are constantly Tweeting, sharing, and comparing our lives to one another, 24-year-old, The Around The Way Co-Founder, Rebecca Beyene is really optimistic about her future and the MULTIPLE plans God has in store for her. She turns 25 this week and is in no sort of quarter life crisis at all. Her calm, cool and colorful demeanor is infectious and she is very excited for the next year to come as she will be starting Fashion Design classes at FIDM in LA. This Chicago native is reaching for the stars and the moon and believes it’s a multitude of things that make us happy and we should learn to incorporate them in both our work and personal life.With a degree in Public Relations and Advertising from DePaul University she has landed herself  multiple jobs and wants to use all of the skills she has learned to become the ultimate #GirlBoss.  Never taking life and opportunities for granted, we can’t wait to see what is in store for the dopest Ethiopian.

“Be nice, you don’t want to be known as the bitchy girl.” Simple words, yet so true, from The Around The Way co-founder Ariel DeLaRosa, who is celebrating her 26th birthday today! Many girls would be freaking out at this point, however Ariel is handling this birthday like a boss and couldn’t be any happier. Like many Chicagoans, this thorough bred Around The Way Girl has a hustler’s spirit and won’t stop until she and her family are livin’ good. She’s another example of life taking you in many different directions. With a degree in fashion business and a minor in marketing communications from Columbia College Chicago, she landed herself a job she would have never imagined and still continues to surprise herself with different endeavors. The universe has a lot in store for this down to Mars girl.

Yesterday my family and I had planned on driving out to Pasadena for an art showcase that displayed work done by students in Ethiopia. However, the way the Beyenes work, we can never get anywhere on time so we ended up spending our Sunday at Coronado Island Beach.
